The Simmons firm is again supporting the annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference to help raise awareness of asbestos exposure and provide support for patients and families battling asbestos-related diseases. The 6th Annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference will be held in Chicago, Illinois on April 10, 2010.

East Alton, IL  April 8, 2010—As a part of the Simmons law firm’s
ongoing efforts to support asbestos awareness and mesothelioma
research, it has become a platinum sponsor for the 6th Annual Asbestos
Awareness Day Conference. The conference, held this year at the
Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, is designed to present
information on asbestos exposure prevention, asbestos disease
treatment, patient support and global advocacy. More about this event can be found on the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization website.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with ADAO and be a part of all the work it does on behalf of asbestos victims and their families,” Simmons firm VP of Medical and Patient Relations Joy Wheeler said. “The annual International Asbestos Awareness Conference is a valuable educational experience for patients, families and medical professionals and researchers who want to learn about the fight against asbestos-related diseases from leaders in the field. Because our asbestos lawyers admire ADAO’s efforts to ban asbestos, our firm remains dedicated to providing the organization with our support.”

Topics covered at this year’s conference include Patient Empowerment:
Developing Your Holistic Treatment Plan; Identifying Asbestos in Your
Home, Workplace and Beyond; and Government Agencies’ Role in Protecting
Public Health. Conference speakers include Jordan Barab, Deputy
Assistant Secretary, Occupational Safety and Health Administration;
